my ring from a shop in Kalmar
YSL coral ring
as everyone can probably tell by my daily outfit posts, i don't wear a lot of jewelry- and if i do its limited to a watch, my glasses and some cuffs, and my own necklace designs. in the past few years I've exclusively worn non metal jewelry, with the exception of my stud bracelets... i especially don't like wearing gold, it just doesn't fit my style and personally I feel a bit uncomfortable wearing it. - i quite fell in love with this YSL ring, even it's gold metal qualities. i was ecstatic when i found this similar ring in a dark silver metal- of course its not even half as beautiful as the YSL ring but it fits my style & satisfies my ring urge for the season (at half the cost too). what do you think?

this is one of my gifts (from Johan), and admittedly my favorite! i've been learning how to use a tablet at work (the entire design department at work uses them). i'm hoping this will give my design process more structure in terms of sketching out a few more of my ideas (as well as perfecting that dusty portfolio). these skirts are my first designs using the tablet. along with some great gifts, i also had the chance to do some thrift shopping during my trip to southern sweden (small swedish towns have the best thrift stores). photos soon...

everyone's off making wishlists but I've been in a boys state of mind lately (haircut anyone?) so here's my boys wishlist, some things i got for johan already, we have very similar style & i almost like shopping for him a lot more then i do for myself, something about not pondering over a purchase for hours and the Fall/Winter 08, Spring 09 collections, especially here in Sweden, menswear has taken a very interesting turn. so here it is.

finally! some photos of my 5preview tee shirt!. they only had one left, it was a medium- i had to fix this in the shoulders, sleeves and sides, but i have a genius method of fixing tee shirts :) i wore this with a million layers, a wool 'The Stray Boys' jacket, a knit panel jacket of my own design, a faux fur scarf, my favorite pair of jeans and very OLD boots that I updated for this Fall/Winter.
speaking of boots & heels- when it starts to snow here in Stockholm, the city puts down a bunch of small rocks on the sidewalks, making it easier to walk on them without slipping to a painful fall BUT after the snow has dried they make for a very ugly view as well as the most intolerable crunching sound- even some tripping. does this bother anyone else as much as it bothers me?

worn with a DIY/completely altered vintage leather skirt and no top (apologies, i couldn't dig up the right shirt for this outfit)
close up of the jacket & exposed one shoulder triple shoulder pads- and my crooked smile
this is the furry/fuzzy stuffed teddy bear like jacket i made a long time ago. I mainly wanted my version of the currently popular fur jacket- without the real fur part or vintage fur (which i'm totally not opposed to but do have issues with the way they usually smell)
i love the way it fits, and it's surprisingly warm.

i've been digging up old photos from my photobucket account and found these two of my senior collection before it's completion. back when i was really into dying fabrics and all shades of purple. i still love the concept- though if i did it now i would definitely choose different fabrics. it seems like it was not so long ago that i was sweating over these designs but in terms of personal growth as a designer- these are light years away. i almost change on a monthly if not daily basis but the core of my design values seems to exist in everything i do- i hope my things seem tied to one another in a subtle way.

i've been stuck in the house, rather sick today and rather busy yesterday so it's a quick update to let everyone know that I've not stopped blogging and will be posting major updates on my projects (including a very furry jacket, my new 5preview t-shirt, red lipstick and some very puffy sleeves)
